Treatment - (First line)

Use paracetamol / ibuprofen 

Consider use of anaesthetic ear drops

Amoxicillin PO for 5 days

(If failed on amoxicillin, use co-amoxiclav PO for 5 days)

Notes:

Treatment usually only required if systemically unwell 

treatment - (Penicillin allergy)

Cefuroxime PO for 5 days

 

If anaphylaxis - Use Azithromycin
