Micro Organisms

Most balanitis is not bacterial. Consider topical hydrocortisone 1% OD for 14 days and analgesia.

If suspected or confirmed fungal infection, prescribe imidazole cream for 14 days (e.g. clotrimazole 1% cream).

Mild intolerance or mild skin reaction to penicillins

Anaphylaxis (including severe skin reaction) to penicillin / cephalosporins - (Penicillin allergy)

Clarithromycin PO 

Notes:

Consider IV if systemically unwell
