Fusidic acid 2% cream topical for 5 days
If MRSA confirmed or suspected - Mupirocin 2% cream topical for 5 days
Use topical route for very localised infections only
Notes:
If recurrent, send swabs for culture
Micro Organisms
Staph.aureus
MRSA

Flucloxacillin PO for 5-7 days
If MRSA confirmed or suspected, discuss with microbiology

Send swabs or scrapings for C+S
Important: Therapy
Azithromycin PO for 5-7 days
Alternative: Co-trimoxazole (if non-responsive to clarithromycin/azithromycin in primary care)
