Flucloxacillin PO for 7 days
If MRSA suspected or confirmed - Co-trimoxazole for 7 days
Post-operative wound infection - clean sites

If MRSA suspected/confirmed OR penicillin allergic then use vancomycin IV

Route of administration is dependant on the severity of infection and the ability of the patient to take medication by the oral route
