Suspected Influenza
Micro Organisms
Influenza A and B
Important: Notes
NB: this guidance refers to seasonal influenza and not pandemic strains
All patients hospitalised for the treatment of confirmed or suspected severe influenza should receive treatment with antivirals.
Not all patients hospitalised primarily for other reasons with an incidental finding of influenza detection have severe influenza. Treatment of non-severe influenza with antivirals should be based on clinical judgement taking into account risk factors for progression to severe influenza.
Please refer to: UK Guidance on use of antviral agents for the treatments and prophylaxis of seasonal influenza
