Permitted indications

May be used for the following indications:

  1. As an alternative to gentamicin for patients with CrCl ≤20mL/min being treated empirically for sepsis of unknown origin.
  2. As an alternative to gentamicin for high risk patients with CrCl ≤20mL/min being treated empirically for neutropenic sepsis.
  3. On the advice of a Medical Microbiologist or Infection Specialist for treatment of gram-negative infections (where gentamicin is not suitable).
