Borders Local Medical Committee

The Borders LMC is a GP representative group made of 12 GPs from across the Borders including GP Partners, a Sessional GP and a GPST.

The aim is to represent the Border's GP community, provide GP representation at Health Board level plus create links between Primary and Secondary Care clinicians.

LMC members attend meetings of the Area Medical Committee, Clinical Interface Group, Local Negotiating Committee, Integrated Joint Board, and are involved in the Primary Care Improvement Plan.

The LMC is linked with the Scottish General Practice Committee (SGPC) and through this, the British Medical Association (BMA). You do not need to be a BMA member in order to access the assistance of the LMC.

Each levy paying practice of the Borders has a local representative with Sessional GP's being covered too. The most up to date committee roles and representative list can be found on the Borders LMC Website.

Access to recent meeting agendas can be found on this site too. Please contact your local representative if you wish more details on a recent topic of discussion.

The LMC manages a Benevolent fund which can be accessed by Border's GPs in need of financial support. Application guidance for this and further support organisations, can be found on the website linked below.
