The NHS Borders Orthopaedic Team is comprised of 8 Consultants ,5 speciality doctors and 2 AHP’s, between them they Assess and carry out surgery on different conditions that may be deemed appropriate elective surgery.

1. Arthroplasty Practitioner: Damon Sommerville -

Assesses and treats patients who have issues with Total knee and Total hip replacements

2. Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner: Ryan Crockatt –

Assesses and treats patients with Knee/ Shoulder/ hip conditions that are unlikely for surgical input.

We accept referrals through SCI gateway for those who are based in Scotland.

We also accept e referrals through the below email address using the attached document for those who are based just on the other side of the border.

We have recently opened a new channel of referral where Band 6 Physiotherapist working in the NHS can refer directly into us using the e-referral process.
