Paediatric MSK referrals pathway for young people with a musculoskeletal problem this pathway explains when to refer to children or adult services.
There is a small team of physiotherapists who provide physiotherapy for children and young people.
The community children and young peoples (CYP) physiotherapy team are based in the AHP Hub, BGH and see children from birth to 18 years with physiotherapy needs. An acute service in ward 15 (children’s ward) is provided for children with respiratory conditions or long term conditions already known to the CYP physiotherapy service.
Young people who are 12 years and above with MSK conditions are triaged following the pathway for Paediatric /MSK referrals and are seen by the MSK Physiotherapists.
Email- Paediatricphysiotherapyborders.scot.nhs.uk if in doubt or looking for advice.
Anyone with a physiotherapy concern including families are encouraged to contact the CYP physiotherapy team directly following the advice on our web page or contacting the email address above.
