Cancer prehabilitation for patients
Preparing with prehabilitation – About you
Prehabilitation or ‘prehab’ is an intervention and programme of support and advice to help you get ready for any treatment you may need. Prehabilitation can help you get stronger, both mentally and physically to cope with any health challenges you may face. Research shows that if you get support as early as possible and are as healthy as possible before treatment starts, you are more likely to:
- recover quicker to resume your normal activities
- cope better with the side effects of any treatment
- improve your overall health and wellbeing
To help us (healthcare team) understand how best to support you before your upcoming treatment we need to gain some information on your current health and lifestyle. We would like you to complete 4 short questionnaires focused on physical activity, nutrition, psychological wellbeing and general lifestyle.
Your honest responses will give us a clear starting point, allowing us to tailor your prehabilitation plan to your specific needs. This is a vital step in helping you prepare and recover as effectively as possible. The questionnaires should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
Your healthcare/medical team who have asked you to complete this will provide you with instructions on how to return the information from the questionnaires.
Thank you for taking the time to share this important information.
