Colour of Tube needed for Test (in order of draw)	Common Tests
White	Blood cultures, use needle adapters to collect blood into blood culture bottles once taken. Ideally use blood culture adapter so that blood is collected straight into culture bottles. Collect into blue top (aerobic) first then red (anaerobic).
Brown	Calcium and albumin CRP Gent level LFTs Magnesium Urea, creat, electrolytes Vancomycin level
Green	Coagulation screen
Red	Full blood count
Blue	Cross match/group and save/CMV
Yellow	Glucose Lactate
