Content management and governance

The qFIT consensus document went through a number of governance structures for approval/endorsement including an engagement event (conference), the Endoscopy Clinical Forum (now the Endoscopy SDG), the CfSD Primary/Secondary Care Interface Group and CfSD’s Pathway Approval Group. Final approval was received in October 2024. The Endoscopy SDG approved the development of the endoscopy toolkit/page in March 2025.

Clinical review

The Endoscopy page will be reviewed every 3 years. It is overseen by Endoscopy SDG, the CfSD Primary/Secondary Care Interface Group and CfSD’s Pathway Approval Group. 

The qFIT consensus document will be reviewed every 3 years although may be subject to update before this period should new clinical evidence emerge. The qFIT consensus document is overseen by the Endoscopy SDG, the CfSD Primary/Secondary Care Interface Group and CfSD’s Pathway Approval Group.

Evidence base

The content of the qFIT guidance was developed through an engagement event (conference) with a wide range of stakeholders where a number of research papers were considered, discussed and used to shape the guidance along with clinical expertise.

Feedback and complaints

Complaints will be discussed with the project team and escalated to the Endoscopy Speciality Delivery Group and CfSD’s clinical directors as needed.

Risk assessment

Any risks to patient safety which could arise from use of this toolkit have been identified and mitigated.

User testing

User testing has been conducted to assure usability, navigation, readability, and appropriate formatting.
