Pallor reported by parent/carer.
Not responding normally to social cues.
No smile.
Wakes only with prolonged stimulation.
Decreased activity.
Nasal flaring.
Tachypnoea
-respiratory rate over 50 breaths/minute, age 6-12 months -respiratory rate over 40 breaths /minute if aged over 12 months.
Oxygen saturation 95% or lower, in air.
Crackles in the chest.
Tachycardia: -over 160 beats/minute if aged under 12 months. -over 150 beats/minute if aged 12-24 months. -over 140 beats/minute if aged 2 - 5 years.
Capillary refill time 3 seconds or longer.
Dry mucous membranes.
Poor feeding in infants.
Reduced urine output.
Temperature 39°C or higher if aged 3-6 months.
Fever for 5 days or more.
Rigors.
Swelling of a limb or joint.
Non-weight bearing limb or not using an extremity.
None of the above.
