Dietitians - who we are and what we do

There are 2 Dietitians within the team on ward 4B at QEUH. We work together with the whole clinical team to support you during your admission. We see you routinely when you are admitted to the ward and can review you during admission. We are involved with the wider medical team who review you daily, and therefore can see you as/when nutritional issues arise or if you request input.

We also try to see all allogeneic transplant patients around 6 weeks prior to admission to discuss the nutritional implications of transplant and provide any nutritional support required pre admission. We can signpost you to your local dietetic team and to any other resources that may be helpful prior to transplant.

Input can be sought following discharge from transplant/CAR-T if you have any concerns relating to weight/nutritional intake. To seek further input from the dietetic team, request referral via CNS or consultant.

What we do: As part of stem cell transplant and CAR-T therapy, we support provision of adequate nutrition and nutritional education to aid recovery through your transplant admission and longer term.
