Skin care

Like your mouth, your skin is also more sensitive during treatment. We advise you to use non perfumed/sensitive products to help reduce the risks of irritation to skin.  We will provide you with a product to wash with and a moisturiser on admission. Any skin changes such as new rashes or itches should be reported to your nurse or doctor.  

For those patients receiving total body irradiation (TBI), there is further skin care guidance that we would ask you to follow. Zerobase, Aveeno or E45 should be used as a moisturiser as this SLS free. Aqueous products should only be used as a soap substitute, not as a moisturiser. Following TBI sunscreen minimum SPF 30 must be used when exposed to direct sunlight.
