Visiting
We operate an open visiting policy which mean we don’t have fixed times for visiting. While you are in the unit, you can have up to 3 visitors, however we would encourage you minimise contact with others where possible. We ask you to let us know who your selected visitors are. They can come at the same time if they live in the same household. If they don’t live together, we would ask them to visit separately. Hospital masks are required to be worn by visitors while in the ward and their temperature will be checked on arrival. All visitors should take a lateral flow test prior to attending the ward. You can get these free from the NHS for your visitors – phone 0800 008 6587 or use this link Lateral flow test login - Lateral Flow Test Portal .These precautions are put in place to reduce the risk of infection to you while your immune system is compromised.
Supporting someone through a transplant can be stressful. More information about support for carers, families or children can be found in the psychology section.
