Lesions visible on oral examination

Warning

If you can see a lesion on oral examination that you would like advice about, please be mindful that any lesion of the anterior tonsillar pillar (palatoglossal arch) or behind it should be referred to ENT. Any lesions in front of the anterior tonsillar pillar should be referral to the maxillofacial department.


Refer oral lesions as per Scottish Referral Guidelines for Suspected Cancer. Please attach a photograph to your referral if possible.
