Warning

This online toolkit has been created for staff working in adult health and social care services. It intends to provide accessible, non‑clinical information about sexual health to support you in your day to day practice. The resource aims to help build confidence, increase awareness and ensure access to accurate and reliable information.

How to use this toolkit

You can use the sections in whatever way works best for you. Accessing quick information, using it to guide supportive conversations or spending more time building your broader understanding through using the links to further information.  This resource is intended to complement rather than replace your organisation’s existing policies, procedures and mandatory training.

The toolkit doesn’t provide clinical training or guidance. It shouldn’t be used to inform clinical decisions, assessment or replace specialist advice. It focuses on key aspects of sexual health, wellbeing and relationships knowledge that are relevant across a wide range of roles in adult health and social care.

Future developments

Additional resources for staff working with people who have a learning disability are currently in development and will be added to the toolkit.
