Warning

Relationships can take many forms including with friends and family. Sexual and romantic relationships also take many forms including monogamous, polyamorous, open and platonic. Each type is valid and comes with its own dynamics and boundaries.

In a monogamous relationship, two individuals agree to be exclusively committed to one another. Polyamorous or open relationships involve consensual connections with multiple partners. Platonic relationships focus on emotional closeness without sexual activity.

It’s important in all types of relationships that all parties feel respected, valued and supported. Clear communication and consent are essential for ensuring relationships of any type are healthy and fulfilling.

It’s important to apply a non-judgemental approach to different relationship types and how we respond to these based on our own personal values.  Regardless of relationship type the most important aspect of any relationship is that it is safe, lawful and fully consensual.
