Infusions and PCAs

Warning
Infusions and PCAs will continue to be prescribed on paper charts but they will need a placeholder prescription in HEPMA in the same way that they do on a paper drug chart.
From the Inpatient Rx screen, click on Add Drug and search for the drug required.
Click on the appropriate infusion.
No changes are need to the default values.
Click on Next and then Confirm the prescription.
The placeholder prescription shows in the PRN section of Inpatient Rx.

MORPHINE PCA – AS PER PAPER CHART
OXYCODONE PCA – AS PER PAPER CHART
FENTANYL PCA – AS PER PAPER CHART
KETAMINE INFUSION – AS PER PAPER CHART
LEVOBUPIVACAINE INFUSION – AS PER PAPER CHAR
- Several routes are available for this:
- Perineural continuous infusion
- Epidural
- Paravertebral
- Abdominal wall
- Chest wall
