Warning

Opioid administration in HEPMA follows a similar process to that with paper.

On the example Inpatient Rx tab below, there is a placeholder prescription for a Morphine PCA and a one for Morphine for titration.

Other opioids that can be prescribed for titrations are Altentanil/Morphine mixture (Alfine)
Morphine, Oxycodone, Fentanyl and Tramadol.

The PRN Notes show the maximum dose that can be given.

The Dose administered box defaults to 2 mg, but this can be reduced if less was given.

Alter the Date & time administered as required. Older times can be entered, back to the time of prescription but they must be done in order of older to newer administrations.

Enter your own details in Witnessing – Administration if nobody else is available to enter theirs at that time.
