Notes
- Maximum dose of Ropivicaine is 3mg/kg, maximum dose of Levobupivacaine is 2mg/kg.
- The volumes given in the table above should give a total LA dose of within safe limits for all patient weights within ranges given.
- If patient’s weight is <50kg, calculate doses for block and LIA so that the combined dose of LA is within maximum doses above.
- LIA volume/dose given in the table assumes a LA dose for nerve block of either 15ml or 20ml of 0.25% Levobupivicaine. For higher concentrations of volumes of local anaesthetic for nerve block, LIA dose will need to be adjusted to keep total LA dose below toxic levels.
