- foreign bodies can be difficult to remove without a microscope.
- remove in the Emergency Department if easy to do without traumatising canal or tympanic membrane.
- otherwise refer to ENT = ENT@borders.scot.nhs.uk or book into Thursday morning ENT clinic in Emergency Department.
