Do lumbar puncture results suggest meningitis¹?

1. Results suggestive of meningitis:

• In neonates (under 28 days old), 20 cells/μl or higher.
• In older children over 5 cells/μl or over 1 neutrophil/μl 
• if lower cell count, still consider bacterial meningitis if other symptoms and signs suggest the diagnosis especially in neonates.
