Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Service
The Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) service is a specialised clinical pathway designed to provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with suspected or confirmed DVT. The service aims to reduce the risk of serious complications, such as pulmonary embolism (PE), through early intervention and ongoing management.
DVT - Lower Limb
Outpatient investigation of lower limb DVT is performed in our Clinical Investigation Units across Tayside.
Referral Guidance
Referrals to the Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) services should be directed via the appropriate locality pathway to ensure timely assessment and management. Primary care referrers are encouraged to use established referral guidance, which includes detailed information to facilitate efficient referrals.
