RDS access to medicines advice

National PROMs/PREMs platform

The initial consultation with eight patient and public focus groups on the Patient Reported Outcome and Experience Measures (PROMs/PREMs) platform is complete. The RDS team is now producing a report which will draw out key findings and recommendations.  The feedback from these sessions was very positive overall, with many helpful suggestions for improvement. The team has now begun a series of meetings with clinicians to get their input on the platform.

Automated conversion of Word guidelines to structured and formatted RDS toolkits

The automatic Word to Web functionality (which converts SIGN guidelines from Word documents to RDS toolkits in less than a minute) has now undergone its final user acceptance testing. The team is now focussed on the successful implementation of the tool and exploring the potential for extending this functionality to other guidelines and pathways.

Improving searching and browsing for medicines information

The improved medicines search and browse functionality is currently in development, following stakeholder consultation workshops and close work with Tactuum. A pilot stage of this functionality is currently being planned.

Alerting to new medicines information on the RDS

The approach to this alerting functionality has been agreed and a specification produced. This functionality will enable RDS users to set up tailored alerts for new and updated information relating to medicines and other resources of interest.
