MSK Assessment, Diagnosis and Management (ADAM) tool

The primary care Assessment, Diagnosis And Management tool (ADAM tool) has been developed to provide first contact practitioners in primary care with information to help assess, diagnose and manage the most commonly referred conditions into MSK services. This guidance is aimed primarily at primary care which seeks to help first contact clinicians, identify, manage and utilise referral guidance and criteria which has been developed by expert secondary care clinicians. Please select the relevant condition you are suspicious that your patient may have and review the guidance for that particular condition. The list is not exhaustive but encompasses what we know to be the most commonly referred conditions to MSK services.
