Signs & symptoms
- Fatigue and cramping symptoms in lower limbs made worse by activity.
- Night cramps.
- Altered colour of limb extremities.
- Reduced hair growth on legs.
- Thin/pale skin that won't heal.
- Weak/absent pulses.
- DVT.
- Aneuryms-pulsatile mass, syncope, ischemic limbs.
Risk factors
- Smoker or previous smoker
- Hypertension
- Over 50 years of age
- Male> female
- Obesity
- History of cerebrovascular accident/ischemic heart disease/diabetes mellitus (CVA/ IHD/ DM)
- Family history if cardiovascular conditions
- Poor lifestyle factors
- Trauma
- Surgery
- Cardiac pacemaker
- Malignancy
- Pregnancy or oral contraceptives
- Indwelling central venous catheter.
