Signs & symptoms
- Pain and weakness after trauma
- Sudden loss of ability to raise arm with or without trauma
Risk factors
- Major trauma in younger patients
- May be minor trauma in older patients
Acute rotator cuff tear
Warning
<2 weeks – ED with written communication.
>2 weeks XR and refer urgently to Orthopaedics/MSK depending on age/ clinical signs.
