Assessment

Signs & symptoms

  • Bone pain/ pain around joint
  • Worsening pain not responding to conservative measures
  • Night pain not related to position
  • Swelling/ Mass/ deformity
  • Stiffness in joint
  • Fatigue

Risk factors

  • History of childhood cancer
  • Teens most commonly affected
  • Over 60 there is an increased incidence
  • Common site- proximal humerus

When & how to refer

Refer to ortho/sarcoma service.
