Warning
Where there is an indication of immediate risk of harm to a child, the safety of the child is paramount. Police and Social Work should take steps to ensure the immediate safety of the child. This may mean that the IRD is held retrospectively. In these circumstances, any necessary investigation or other action should not be postponed as a result of any delay in receiving information from other agencies.
