Pathway development groups, Dermatology Specialty Delivery Group (SDG), Primary Care Secondary Care Interface Group, CfSD Pathway Sign Off Group.
Content is drafted by a pathway development group comprised of dermatologists and other clinical and operational management colleagues as appropriate. It is then submitted to the Dermatology SDG and the Primary Care Secondary Care Interface Delivery Group for approval and is ultimately signed off by the CfSD Sign Off Group.
Each resource has a review period applied at the time of initial publication (currently 3 years) and the SDG have a responsibility to ensure that a scheduled review is undertaken by that time, or sooner if there is a material change to guidance or best practice in the interim. Any such update should be flagged via the SDG. There is a mechanism whereby the CfSD PMO alert the appropriate National Improvement Advisor of any forthcoming reviews at both 9 and 6 months, to ensure the review can be undertaken by the set review date.
The reviewed/refreshed resource is then submitted for re-approval, initially to the SDG, and then through the CfSD Sign Off Group.

A group of clinical experts from across Scotland is formed for the development of each new pathway. A review of evidence is undertaken and is used to inform practice.

Messages received through the RDS Feedback form will be forwarded by the RDS team to the key contacts and team mailbox.
Implementation and adoption of these national resources is via territorial boards. CfSD have no role in direct patient care. Any complaints and feedback relating to service provision should be directed and managed by the board delivering the service.

- No risks to the safety of patients or service users have been identified
Content has been tested and reviewed by the National Improvement Advisor, Head of Programmes and Clinical Lead to ensure that the content is as per approved national pathways, and to assure usability, navigation, readability, and appropriate formatting.
