About this toolkit

This handbook, and the guidelines in it, have been developed by the Emergency Department team of St John's Hospital at Howden, Livingston. Resources are also taken from our colleagues at the RIE ED, RHCYP ED, and from within NHS Lothian. The aim is to provide up-to-date information about working within SJH ED.

Medical, nursing, management, and associated staff working within or with SJH ED and NHS Lothian. The toolkit is not intended for the general public.

We would like to acknowledge the RDS team for their assistance in creating this toolkit.

This handbook will be reviewed at least annually.
