Warning
- Are they suitable? See referral guideline (backup intranet link)
- Insert cannula and give IV ceftriaxone as per referral guideline
- Complete referral form (backup intranet link)
- Email sjh.opat@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk to inform them of referral
- Complete drug Kardex with Ceftriaxone daily dose at 10:00 and leave in reception tray along with referral form
- Advise patient to return to OPAT (open 7 days in Medical day unit) at 09:00-10:00
- Leave the cannula in and secure with bandage or tubifast
