Warning

Patients requiring urgent outpatient follow-up that is not covered by any of the other sections of the handbook (including in the ambulatory care section) must be discussed with the appropriate registrar (either at SJH, RIE or WGH).

Any patient being followed up in another hospital should be given a photocopy of their ED notes or TRAK letter. If the patient needs copies of radiology investigations for further management, and they live outwith Scotland (i.e. no further access to the Scottish National PACS), you should discuss with the radiographers if there is a method of delivering a copy of the relevant X-rays or CT to the patient. If the patient lives in England there can be the potential to electronically transfer radiology images if we aware of a named hospital which supports this.
