Indications:

The drug of choice in renal colic unless contraindicated

Dose:

100mg PR or 50mg PO

Notes:

Absolute contraindication: aspirin/other NSAID allergy

Relative contraindications: Avoid NSAIDs in patients with active peptic ulceration. The BNF notes
that NSAIDs should only be given to patients with a past history of peptic ulceration and to the elderly after
considering other forms of treatment. May exacerbate asthma, also must not be given to patients with heart failure,
hypertension, renal impairment.
