Defibrillator (Mindray D3)

The Mindray D3 defibrillators have replaced the old Philips models. The defibrillation energies are different - we have created a reminder poster to ensure staff are aware of these energies, and these posters should be near the defibrillators.

Unsynchronised (cardiac arrest) energies

In adults start at 200J > 300J > 360J.

Synchronised (non-cardiac arrest cardioversion) energies

Ensure that the sync system is on, and confirmed. The Mindray D3 screen should display this if it is synchronised mode.

Atrial Fibrillation: 360J

Broad complex: as unsynchronised shocks

Narrow complex: 100J > 150J > 200J
