Warning
Intubation of unwell patients should only be done in accordance with the advanced airway policy. It should be performed in the resus room, with anaesthetic involvement, by a physician (registrar or consultant) with advanced airway training, with an appropriate number of support staff. If there is doubt consultant emergency physician / anaesthetist / critical care physician involvement should be emergently sought.
