Objectives

Knowledge of triage tools for when SAS calls SJH ED to decide which patients are appropriate to come to SJH ED, and which patients go to a major trauma centre

Audience

Senior care providers or nurses who answer SAS calls

St John's Hospital (SJH) Emergency Department (ED) is a local emergency hospital (LEH), not a trauma unit (TU) or a major trauma centre (MTC). The local MTC is the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE). The following tools developed by SETN have been agreed with the SAS to ensure the patients get the most appropriate care as quickly as possible.
