The inpatient urology service is at the Western General Hospital, however there are Urology clinics at St John’s most days of the week and the Consultants who work here are very supportive of the ED service.

If patients need to be admitted with urological problems consider whether admission to the ED Observation ward may be appropriate, for example for adequate analgesia if suffering from uncomplicated renal colic.

Some patients will however need to be referred on to the urologist on call at the WGH and transferred there for admission. Contact urology on call either via the number on the contacts page, or via switchboard.
