CALICO (Cancer and Leukaemia in Children Orientated): a local charitable organisation in the Grampian Region set up in 1983. Our aim to help and support all families who have children suffering from cancer, leukaemia or cancer related illness. The first priority of CALICO is to the family of any child with cancer of leukaemia to alleviate, where possible, financial stress caused by additional expenses.
Clan Cancer Support: providing emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer across north-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland. They offer a relaxed, welcoming and caring environment both at Clan House, their purpose-built support and wellbeing centre in Aberdeen, and at their many community bases. Services available include information and support, counselling, complementary therapies, social and wellbeing activities and dedicated support for children and families. For those travelling to Aberdeen hospitals for appointments or treatment, they also offer affordable B&B accommodation at Clan Haven alongside assistance with transport to and from hospital.
Friends of ANCHOR: a charity dedicated to supporting people in the north of Scotland who are affected by cancer or a blood disorder. Their support is freely available to those being treated in the ANCHOR Unit (the Aberdeen & North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy) is and delivered with compassion, care and hope.
Maggie's Aberdeen: based at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. They help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, with professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries. Their support is free and you don't need an appointment or referral.
NHS Grampian Sexual Health Services: Grampian Sexual Health provides free and confidential services.
TeamJak Aberdeen: provide drop ins, coffee sessions, group support for our children with cancer through our Bespoke Bag of Worries programmes – Warriors, Siblings and TJs Bag of Worries, Seasons for Growth, Under 5 sessions, Teen sessions, parent sessions, activity days, music therapy, counselling, homework support and much more from Jak's Den Aberdeen.
