Beatson Cancer Charity: supporting cancer research, management, care and treatment at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. 

The Beatson Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service: provides practical and emotional support to young people aged 16-26 years with cancer and their families at all stages of their care. This support reaches across West Regional Scotland, regardless of where the young person is being treated.

Improving the Cancer Journey Service: Glasgow City Council and Macmillan Cancer Support have launched the Improving Cancer Journey Service. They aim to help people affected by cancer get the support they need, whether its financial, emotional, medical or practical.

Macmillan Information and Support Centre: based in the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. The Centre is managed by an NHS Macmillan Healthcare Professional, supported by NHS and Glasgow Life Volunteers. Offering information and signposting services.

Maggie's Glasgow: based near the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre they offer a drop in space for being together or for a moment alone, for getting going again or for meeting people who just get it. 

Team Jak: provides practical, social and emotional support to children and young people age 0-25 with cancer and related illnesses, their family, friends and those bereaved.

 

 

Bereavement

Beatson Cancer Charity Bereavement Support service: for adults who have been bereaved through cancer and whose loved one received care from the West of Scotland Beatson Cancer Centre or other west of Scotland hospitals. 

Brightest Star: a charity based in Linwood providing bereavement support to families.

 

Practical help - financial support, gifts and wishes

Doing it for Daniel Foundation: financial assistance for children and young people with a cancer diagnosis at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre by funding special gifts, experiences, days and holidays at Daniel's Beach House in Ayr.

Patient Emergency Food Discharge Bags: for patients at the Beatson. Eligible patients could be isolated or experiencing money difficulties.  Healthcare Professionals can refer patients via the Support & Information Service on 0141 211 3128

Self care - mental health and wellbeing

Beatson Cancer Charity Wellbeing Centre: a unique space in The Beatson designed to be a calming environment for patients away from the wards and clinics. The centre is located on the 4th floor of the Beatson and is a place where patients can chat with others, socialise with a range of activities and access support available.

Glasgow Association for Mental Health: offer a wellbeing service delivering peer-based interventions and information sharing sessions for young people aged 16-25 to help promote their mental wellbeing and encourage positive social connections. The sessions will include; creative arts, music, journaling, newsletter production, community radio, podcasts, baking and cooking sessions.

Recovery Across Mental Health (RAMH): provide support to people recovering from mental ill health in Renfrewshire and Ayrshire.
