I had major spinal surgery three days ago. I cannot believe how caring, professional and wonderful all of the staff were at this Unit where I spent my time before and after my surgery. Nursing staff and auxiliaries were so thoughtful and such an amazing environment.

I felt cared for and safe. You spent time to chat which was very much appreciated,  I also had the privilege of access to Horatio’s Garden, a beautiful space for patients and families.

I suffered an unstable fracture. I was transferred to Edenhall Spinal Injuries Unit for care and surgery. The care is second to none. I will be eternally grateful to the Spinal Injures team, Mr Alan and Mr McLean.

Check out the piece below from BBC Radio 4's 'Short Cuts'. It's a short story from a past patient of the QENSIU about her time at the Unit, and specifically her time cooking in the adapted kitchen. Her piece is from 6'25" - 15'23":
