The Outpatients team provide life-long care & support relating to Spinal Cord Injury following discharge from the Spinal Unit.

  • Spinal neurosurgical (neurosurgical consultants) 

Nurse Clinics

  • Spinal review

  • Acupuncture 
  • Skin management 
  • Baclofen pump refill 
  • Drop-in 

Other Clinics 

  • Orthotics 
  • Urodynamics 

Roles

The Outpatient team are here to support you, however it is not an emergency service. First line treatment is through your GP, District Nurse or local hospital. The table below gives an outline of who you should contact for a range of issues:

  • Repeat Prescriptions
  • Contact if you feel unwell
District Nurse
  • Help with care that carers cannot do
  • Change catheters & bowel care
  • Pressure sores/marks care
  • Any other medical issues

  • Advice on general SCI care
  • Education and support
