Logo for Aspire Charity. The word 'Aspire' is written in a blue font with a blue and purple underline. Underneath that, blue text reads "Supporting people with spinal injury"

Aspire is a UK-wide charity that supports people with spinal cord injury through independent living, assistive technology, welfare benefits advice, money matters, your fund and campaigning.

They also provide temporary accessible housing for people with spinal cord injury and fund the Aspire house in Clydebank and Patient Education Assistants in the UK spinal units. Carol Donaldson is the Patient Education Administrator for the QENSIU.

In addition to promoting the services that Aspire offer to the patients in the spinal injuries unit, Carol promotes the unit's education programme through posters and discussions with patients. Carol also collects and collates feedback about the education programme which is used to continually develop and improve the sessions on offer. In addition to this, Carol completes the ‘Mind the Gap’ questionnaires with patients close to discharge which helps the patient and the unit identify any educational needs that need addressed prior to discharge.
