Back Up
Back Up is a UK-wide charity that provides a variety of lifelong support services for people with spinal cord injury. This includes mentoring for people with spinal cord injury and their relatives; wheelchair skills training; assistance with return to work; and rehabilitation courses.
While an inpatient at the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit, Back Up can provide you with:
- Wheelchair skills training (both indoors and outdoors)
- Advice and support on community outings
- Mentoring
- Assistance with the delivery of the Patient Education Programme
Rich Osborn is Back Up’s Outreach and Support Co-ordinator for Scotland and can help you to identify how Back Up can best support to you and your family, both as an inpatient in the unit and following discharge into the community.
