Buckle fractures

Warning
If a child has an isolated distal radius buckle fracture, you can use the FORCE pathway to judge whether the patient can be treated conservatively.
If the patient is to be treated in a bandage, please give the family the FORCE patient information leaflet, and document that you have done this on the notes.
If a splint or cast is needed, please issue the buckle fracture splint leaflet or the cast leaflet as appropriate.
