Serious hip pathologies

  • Loosening/ infection hip arthroplasty
  • Avascular necrosis
  • Femoral aneurysm
  • Slipped capital femoral epiphysis.

Special questions:-

  • Sudden onset of pain and inability to bear weight.
  • Systemically unwell
  • Worsening hip pain
  • Subjective findings don't fit objective findings
  • Clunking/ feels arthroplasty moving
  • Adolescent with new knee/hip pain.

Groin and soft tissue injury

Groin pain - Suspected osteoarthritis of the hip

Lateral thigh pain/ trochanteric bursitis (greater trochanter pain syndrome)

Loosening/ infection hip arthroplasty
